There are two different stories regarding Kissing the Blarney stone with luck. In 1440s one date back one of a builder of Castle Cormac Laidir MacCarthy was in lawsuit and want some extra luck to won the case. He sought out Clíodhna. She is goddess of love and beauty. She told him to kiss a stone on his way to court. He won the case and then he took that stone and applied it into castle.
Another story suggests that Queen Elizabeth wanted the land rights from Cormac MacCarthy. Cormac set off to try and convince the queen to change her mind, but was worried since he wasn’t a strong speaker. He ran into older lady while travelling she suggested him to if he kissed particular stone in Blarney Castle it would gave him gift of eloquent speech. Cormac did just that and went on to persuade the queen to allow him to keep his land.
Based on these stories now a days Blarney Stone gets millions of visitor which place Blarney Castle, outside Cork, Ireland, with the hope the stone has the same impact on their own lives.
